subject: Where Are The Midway Airport Cabs Located? [print this page]

Midway airport is so busy they have a reservation kiosk for customers awaiting a taxi. Customers can walk to the kiosk area and choose which of the hundreds of taxi services available to hire for their transport. Each taxi company has their rates and fees posted and the phone number to dial a cab. Some of the taxi companies offer a flat fee to a specific business center, like downtown, and others charge either mileage or an hourly rate. Each type of taxi has its advantages and is available for 24 hours each day, seven days a week.

Midway airport has one main passenger terminal with three legs of the terminal for departing and arriving planes. The terminals are shaped like a triangle, with the food and beverage services placed in the center. The customer service representatives are also located in this section. There are lounges in this area for layovers and restroom facilities. The airport has a visual text display for information and messages that lists all incoming and outgoing delays throughout the airport, so that a passenger is walking through the airport they can see their current flight status or if they have a message awaiting.

There are many services available inside of Midway airport including internet access, the Midway Blvd, a combination of restaurants and pubs for the passengers and families, and gift shops and news stores for books, toys, and magazines and entertainment items. There are hundreds of ATMs, a business center for working customers, police kiosks for information and to report a crime or violation, a USO facility for traveling service members, and a chapel for those needing a quiet place for contemplation and prayer. The chapel is interfaith and not restricted to one denomination or faith.

There are services available for handicapped and disabled travelers and the airport shuttles are all wheelchair accessible. There is a team of EMT's and medical assistants available if there is a medical emergency at the airport. There is also an onsite museum commemorating the Battle of Midway and an airplane suspended from the ceiling at the concourse level. At the main terminal there are queues of taxicabs waiting, in addition to the cabs that have been hailed by the particular customers. It is wise to request your personal taxi driver carry a sign with your name on it to distinguish from the hundreds of other drivers waiting for passengers to depart.
