subject: What Is Your Self-Definition [print this page] Our self-definition is the label that we have given to ourselves that expresses how we view ourselves. I am broke; I am getting sick; I am to fat; ect....
Never limit yourself with a negative label! You will never to be able to experience better than or more than your own self-definition.
Romans 12:2 MSG Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
The king James translation of "dont be so well-adjusted" is "Be not conformed to this world". The best translation for this is "Do not conform to things as they appear."
The only way you're going to get more out of your life is to make sure that you do not allow yourself to be enslaved to the conditions you are in. We have to remember to never allow our undesirable circumstances to lock and bound us in to our current reality.
Rev. Ike says, "We can change our circumstances by changing our self-image, by first changing our self-definition." The bible teachings this principle from cover to cover.
Joel 3:10 KJVR.. let the weak say, I am strong.
The truth of the matter was that the people were weak. However, God knew that He could not allow them access to his divine power unless He showed them how to change their self-image.
Let the weak say, I am strong.
Let the poor say, I am rich.
Let the sick say, I am healed.
Redefining yourself image is seeing yourself in the theater of your own mind being, doing, and having the good/God that you desire.
One of the truest statements ever made was made by an old comedian name Flip Wilson.
"What you say is what you get!"
Make sure that what you're saying about yourself is what you want to get! Daily give yourself a label that reflects a positive self-image that will lift you, that will heal you, that will prosper you.
