March 20th 2012: This week marks the first birthday of Beach Tomato; the online lifestyle, fashion and travel magazine dedicated purely to beach culture. And so, to celebrate we look back on the past year - the 187 beaches visited; the 57 model castings; the 1324 features; the 338176 air-miles flown by Team Beach and the 1657 cans of Coca Cola consumed.

Conceived by Tom Marchant and, now wife, Kirsty Hathaway (ex Vogue, GQ and Company), whilst holidaying on an idyllic beach in Bahia, Beach Tomato aimed to fill an aching gap in the market by becoming the much-needed online beach media platform. Combining beach culture with beach fashion and beauty and delivering it in an editorially exciting, enticing and visually inspiring way is what sets online magazine, Beach Tomato apart.

Beach Tomato Founder, Tom Marchant, comments, We created Beach Tomato to be the friendly voice offering insightful and honest advice about beaches from around the world. Beach Tomato offers the latest beach fashion and beauty trends, style tips and advice on the best beaches to escape to, and both the team and I are thrilled with all that we have achieved this year and the wonderful customer feedback we continue to receive.

Achievements

Over the last year Beach Tomato was short-listed for the Good Web Guides Website of the Year Award, as well as being short-listed as a finalist for the New Business of the Year in the Fast Growth Business Awards 2011, both hugely prestigious awards which we were honoured to be put forward for and involved in.

This past year also saw the launch of Beach Tomato's inaugural fashion, beauty and travel awards in June; which allowed Hathaway and the team to truly uncover the best of the beach for 2011. After the success of these awards and a fantastic response from both the brands involved and the readers, Beach Tomato went on to host their first Beach Tomato Property Awards in August, allowing them to firmly establish themselves within the beach property sector.

The Beach Tomato Shack

Finally in December Beach Tomato launched their long awaited e-commerce platform, The Beach Tomato Shack, the online shop and home to the worlds most exciting beach brands, making Beach Tomato the one-stop shop for all your beach holiday needs. The Beach Tomato Shack was a natural extension to the Beach Tomato magazine, allowing people to buy the very best of luxury beachwear, dressing both men and women for their stylish travels. Since launch Beach Tomato has seen over 50 designers grace The Shack, all hand-picked, offering must-have buys for the style conscious shopper.

So, heres to the next year, to the undiscovered beaches yet to be found, the holiday giveaways yet to be won and the suitcases yet to be filled.
