subject: Tips And Tricks To Renting Or Buying Your First Rv [print this page]

Due to the increased number of people with added leisure time, the RV (recreational vehicle) industry has grown significantly. Many of these people can easily go to an RV dealer and within a few moments, drive off with an RV that will accommodate their every camping and travel need. To ensure a happy and successful trip, follow these 5 rules for renting an RV:

1.Needs:

Where you are going and what you will be doing? It would be good to plan with your family and friends before renting an RV. It is advisable for everyone, including children, to write down what they would like to have in their temporary home away from home. Compile a list of these notes and take them with you to the RV dealer.

2.Be curious:

Keep asking questions. The more information you get, the better off you are with all purchases or rentals. When you are deciding upon which vehicle to rent to act as your home away from home, knowing more and clearing doubts at the beginning will always help ensure a worry free vacation. Dont be too hasty with your trip to the dealers. Set aside enough time to ask them all the questions you want and need answered, be it simple or more technical question. They will always be happy to answer you.

3.Plan:

Plan your holiday's duration and location. Basically this is to ensure that the grounds youll be using for your vehicle have the facilities that you will need and require. And again, ask questions. If the information you need isnt on their website, give them a phone call or an email and ask a couple of questions. Do not forget to always confirm your reservations!

4.Knowledge:

Know the differences between RVs. This will aid you in choosing what you need. There are different types, from those you pull behind your car to those you dont need a vehicle to tow. Choose depending on what resources you have available and of course what you really want in an RV. There are 3 basic RV classes (A, B and C), which differ them by size and amenities. Study whatever you can on the differences and choose the best for you.

5.Alternative Transportation:

If you are going to rent a stand-alone RV, which you dont need to pull behind your car, you may need to plan on ways to get around without having to bring the whole vehicle with you. A good idea would be to bring a small motorized scooter or a couple of bicycles to help get you around without the hassle of finding adequate parking. This could easily be a big factor in the enjoyment of your vacation.

Research has shown that a third of every first time RV customer would decide on purchasing an RV in the future. Always take the time to plan, double check and ask questions before going on your trip. Memories of an enjoyable and successful RV vacation will never go away.
