subject: Edible Oil Filters In Refinery Process [print this page]

Edible oils have the high amount of fatty acids before getting refined. The first class of edible oil is "vegetable oil", out of relatively defined categories. This type is got through processing soybeans like olives, peanuts, sunflower seeds, coconuts, etc. Oil needs to be refined through edible oil filters before being used as cooking oil. The ultimate proposition of refining is removing extra fatty acids whereas preventing the oils from oxidation. Refinery process is not limited to remove fatty acids, because it is a process of removing the components like color and odor also. Lack of removing such impurities leads a negative impact on taste and appearance of the oil. The consequential oil after filtration is thinner without fatty acids, colorless without any odor. The following processes are followed in edible oil plants.

The first process to follow is Neutralization of crude oil by removing fatty acids. In this process, the oil is neutralized by the neutralizer in order to remove the fatty acids by agitation with caustic soda. Oil is heated up to 60 Celsius by thermal fluid coils while being stirred by stirrer. Removal of impurities and color is passed through the second vessel called bleacher where color of oil is removed by bleaching process. This process is backed by chemicals like carbon black and bleaching clay. It is usually heated up to 110 Celsius by thermo fluid coils, where stirring also carries on. Once, bleaching process is done under vacuum, oil passes through edible oil filters for filtration processing.

Bleached oil goes through deodorizer where oil is heated above 110 Celsius. The temperature of oil is raised to 200 to 220C on thermal fluid coils. Entire process is done under high vacuum, so smell is removed in the deodorizer. Micro filtration stage is executed, once cooling down oils temperature in cooler is done. This process is performed in a micro to make oil safe to eat through edible oil refinery equipment. This stage is especially meant for successful filtration.

There are many reputed manufacturers and exporters of edible oil refinery machinery. Machinery should be capable of crushing and refining of all variety of oil seeds like groundnut, sunflower, seed, copra, palm kernel, cotton, sesame and soya bean, etc. some of edible oil machines manufacture export machinery across nations so far. Edible oil mill machinery expels and extracts oil from various edible and non-edible oil seeds. It is acquired by grinding, cooking, expelling and pressing the solvent extraction of raw materials. After the filtration of oil, they are put in crude oil storage. Storage tanks are built with heating pipes and equipped with side entry mixers to keep the foot in suspension, ensuring a constant supply to down-stream equipment at the same time.
