subject: Iphone 5 Release Date [print this page]

One of the biggest questions being taken on by everyone from the Wall Street Journal to your typical basement blogger has been when the iPhone 5 will be released. Each source claims that they have the latest and greatest tipster willing to spill the beans on the iPhone 5 release date. The first question you should probably ask yourself before giving into, or even reading an article that claims to know when it will be released is what source theyre using and the history of their claims. So to tackle the first one, ask yourself whether or not the source theyre using, of course assuming it is real and genuine report/person, would even have such information. Weve read tons of reports from websites suggesting that an Apple Store employee somehow had insight into the inner workings of Apple or how an Apple intern overhead people discussing this. If you think about it, there is not a shot in hell that a retail worker at a mall would in any way, shape or form know about such delicate and vital information that could essentially ruin a multi-billion dollar multinational corporations plans. The same also goes for the intern that claims to overhear fragile information about the iPhone 5 release date. One of the things the founder and longest standing CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs, was known for was secrecy. He even admits that his wife wasnt informed about his working on the iPhone until the project was absolutely completed and a launch date was set up. There are even reports that Apple makes people work on fake and secret projects that are only assigned to them. This way, Apple will be able to immediately pinpoint who let the secrets slip to the media or website as the untrustworthy culprit. It might sound a little extreme and taking it too far, but for a company that relies heavily on building up a product through their famous product launches and building up hype through absolute secrecy until it is released, this intangible aspect is worth quite a bit to the company. The second thing to keep in mind is who the source letting out the information is and the chances that they would be landing on some real or reliable information on something as awesome as the iPhone 5 release date. Take, for example, the Wall Street Journal or The New York Times and compare them to a fictional website we just made up right now called the-technology-dude.com (we dont know if this site actually exists and dont care the check as were referring to an example of a random blogger site). Its true, Apple keeps their information totally tip-lipped and are extremely secretive, but who do you think would get even a hypothetical tip-off of the iPhone 5 release date? Exactly. Were not dismissing blogger websites as we enjoy them more than ever, but such sensitive information if decided to be released by an employee is likely to be via a huge news media outlet rather than a random blog. There are however, numerous sites that are fully dedicated to Apple news and rumors that are pretty on top of this stuff that we definitely dont want to dismiss. All were saying is not to take anything, especially iPhone 5 news, rumors or updates, without using your judgment and really thinking about whether or not it is a source that you would be getting their hands on information like this. So after all this, and keeping things like that into mind, weve come to the realization that the iPhone 5 is likely to be released sometime this late Summer or early Fall which would make it perfect as the iPhone 4S would have been announced and released for about a year by that time.
