subject: Mini Led Lightbar And How It Contributes To An Emergency Vehicle [print this page]

The mini LED lightbar is used for two interesting reasons. It is used when the vehicle is too small to be using a full length light bar but still needs an efficient, externally mounted source for warning signals. It is also used when the budget is very tight, considering that full length light bars could often cost more than $1000 dollars, especially when they are laden with high end features. The mini light bar is an excellent option for smaller cars such as highway patrol vehicles which need a reliable source of emergency lighting. The mini bars come with a varying number of LED modules but it is usually between 2 or 3 modules per bar.

The mini LED lightbar could sometimes come with split color LED modules as well where half of the LEDs are in one color and the other half are of a different color. Some mini bars come with 2 or 4 LED modules with one set of modules in one color and the other set in a different color. Dual colored mini bars can be extremely efficient especially when you operate flash patterns with the multi-colored LEDs. Combinations of blue, red and amber LEDs are used for effectiveness. The mini light bar provides efficiency that too at a very low cost. In fact, in case of some bars, each pair of lights can flash with their own unique patterns, thus giving you a lot more out of the same compact lighting equipment.

The mini LED light bar may have some interesting designs too. For example, you might come across mini bars which have strobe light heads instead of LED modules. There are pairs of mono-colored or dual colored light heads which are installed together with a diamond mirror in between. So, while the equipment is quite small in size, 180 degree visibility can be achieved thanks to the use of the mirrors. This also helps in saving the energy through use of just 2 light heads to get an efficient warning signal. The mini light bar also comes with a dozen built in flash patterns with solid state electronics. The mini bars provide the additional flexibility of both temporary and permanent mounting options, with magnets used for temporarily mounting them on the surface of the vehicles.

The mini LED light bar sometimes come with a 90 pound pull, magnetic mount along with swivel brackets and other mounting options. Sometimes, there are rotators as well, which can provide 360 degree lighting. The mini light bar also sometimes comes with a color filter kit which can allow you to mix and match the colors with white LEDs, so that you can get multicolored lighting. Coiled cords, in line switches and a rugged aluminum base plate are some of the other features commonly seen with the mini bar. They can be operated with a simple 12 V DC power supply. Some mini bars also come with optional alley lights. The mini bars can sometimes be combined with other smaller emergency lighting equipment like dash and deck lights.
