David Bittle served in the United States Coast Guard and he retired after 24 years of active service. He has extensive experience in supervising civilian, military and government agency personnel in emergency situations, security planning and environmental disasters. He worked as the Chief of Security for the USCG base in Boston from 2006 to his retirement in September 2011. At his job, he managed and supervised the overall USCG security program. He also gave his expert suggestions while developing security plans and directing strategic efforts for strengthening the security profile of the base. David Bittle was also tasked with planning advanced security risk assessment and conducting investigations related to security violations.

As a senior-level specialist, David Bittle provided his services to the United States Coast Guard and received various awards for his efforts. He used his leadership skills to respond, investigate and supervise any situation that appeared in the course of his daily duties. He had the responsibility of making important decisions related to the security and safety of personnel working on base and he showed great understanding of the security issues faced by the U. S. Coast Guard. His dedication towards his duties enabled him to obtain the rank of chief petty officer.

David Bittle was also a small arms instructor and served as the ordnance safety inspector for high explosive transfers for the first Coast Guard district. He has a MA Class A Large Capacity License to carry firearms (no restrictions). In addition to this, he also holds a U. S. Merchant Mariners 100 ton captains license with a towing endorsement and MA CDL Class A drivers license. One of his many awards included the Secretarys Outstanding Unit Award for outstanding performance in New York Harbor following the attacks on the World Trade Center.

Through the years, David Bittle has also worked in security operations, emergency response, incident management, investigations, and threat management. He also specializes in oil spill, hazardous material, and WMD response. As a trained professional in hazardous materials/oil spill incident response with a proven ability to assess situations, analyze multiple courses of action and take decisions that are suitable for the situation. He is a model professional and his colleagues often looked up to him for inspiration.
