subject: Photo Gifts For Mom And Dad [print this page] It might seem far away now but spring is upon us. With spring comes holidays and reasons to celebrate, and no, I'm not just talking about warmer weather and bidding snow a not so fond farewell for another year. Mother's Day and Father's Day are approaching with as much anticipation as the daffodils of spring. What are you going to get your mom and dad this year? Are you looking for crafts to do with your children? Look no further. Make mom a great bracelet for Mother's Day using inkjet photo paper! You'll need colored elastic, large buttons with recessed thread holes, puff paint or 3D paint, scissors, glue, and of course photo quality paper.
Select pictures of all of Mom's kids. The best photos are going to be those of faces that are small enough to fit on buttons. Print them out using inkjet photo paper. You'll need to use scissors to cut them to fit on the buttons, and it may take a few tries to get the right sizing so make sure that you have several sheets of inkjet photo paper on hand. You can use a coin to trace out a circle over the faces in the photo to make sure they're all the same size. If you have a circle cutter you can also use that. Paste the photos onto the front of the buttons with the glue and decorate the edges of the photo with the 3D paint. Put them aside and wait for them to dry.
While you're waiting for the buttons to dry, cut the elastic for the bracelet. You're going to want to cut the length to about two inches longer than the desired final size of the bracelet. After the buttons are dry, slide them onto the elastic leaving about one inch free on either side. Once you have the buttons in the order that you want them you can tie the two ends of the elastic together into a knot. Snip off the excess and you have a homemade piece of jewelry to give to mom on mother's day.
This craft is obviously for children and is best for ages 5-12. It should also be supervised by an adult.
There are so many different ways to thank your mom for Mother's Day. Making something for her and make it as personal as you can. A great gift is something she can cherish for years and years to come.
