Photography celebrates and promotes life in general. From non-living to living things, all convey a message depending on the photo taken. With the skills and expertise of a photographer, a simple photo can go miles. For instance, a black and white photo that frames a child looking at the lens deliver a message. Photography does not only pertain to just taking photos but also conveying a message to the viewer of the photo.
In art, there is always a spectator and the beholder. The beholder refers to the artist while the spectator pertains to the viewer of the beholders artwork. All creative minds are keen to details. May it be a writer or a painter, details are important because it contributes to the entirety of his artistic creation. For instance, in this article, even a single preposition can obtain a different thought to the reader. This being said generates expectation in the minds of a spectator. Fundamentally, spectators look for the sense of aesthetics of a particular piece of art. However, through time, art has also innovated different concepts. One of these is the conceptual art that does not showcase beauty but essentially the concept of the artwork. As a spectator views a beholders art piece, the first thing that is considered is its look. Does it look beautiful? Does it look good in your eyes? But beyond visual factors, an artwork encloses a message that will make the viewer think and lasts in its mind as well as may influence a persons activity, behavior or perception. Through this, the spectator connects with the beholder, which is really is an artists goal is.
For this reason, in photography, the photographer is careful to the angle and the frame that he captures. It is not merely clicking the shutter of the camera and end up developing the film or presenting the photo. It has to incorporate artistry in line with the realm or gamut of photography. Also, the tool used should not be the one controlling the photographer; rather, he should learn and study the basic up to the every feature therein in his camera. Aside from the angle and lighting, camera resolution is also important. Though it does not necessarily has to have the highest or latest resolution there is but whats important is the photo itself. Some digital cameras offer multitude of features but it will all end up on how you use a particular feature in coming up with a series of photo. The skill comes not from the tool used (features and resolution) but how the photographer executes his talent and passion for artistry.
