subject: Sparkle A Hanukkah Celebration With Hanukkah Party Decorations [print this page]

Having a Hanukkah celebration? It's time to decorate for the Festival of Lights. Hanukkah colors are all shades of blue, white and silver. Start with wonderful glitter vinyl decorations that cling to windows. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes including menorahs, dreidels and Stars of David. These are especially nice if there are children in the home or if children will be coming to a Hanukkah party.

Continue the Hanukkah Party Decorations with a glittery blue and silver Star of David wreath for the door or for the wall of the main celebration room. There are also lovely cutouts for the inside walls; these also come in menorah, dreidel and Star of David shapes.

Put up banners that read "Happy Hanukkah" across a doorway, or spanning from one wall to another. Tie Hanukkah balloons in blue, white and silver to the entrance or the refreshment table.

Flowers are always a welcome addition to any table and should be on the list of Hanukkah party decorations. At Hanukkah, try putting blue and white flowers in a silver bowl on the coffee table. Then place white and blue candles on both sides. End table can be dressed up with smaller versions of the same floral arrangements.

The table at a more formal dinner can really benefit from Hanukkah Party Decorations. A pale blue tablecloth with medium blue table runners would be beautiful. Add white plates and pale blue napkins along with transparent blue glassware. Put a dreidel at each place setting as a party favor. The menorah will be the center piece at most Hanukkah parties. It can be handmade or it can be customized by setting it on a lovely silver tray and decorating around it with curly blue and white ribbon.

Hanukkah party decorations can include Hanukkah light sets that are strings of lights that may spell out Hanukkah or may be dreidels or other Hanukkah related shapes. Party guests always enjoy gift bags as a way of thanking them for coming to the party. Get special Hanukkah gift bags or use silver, blue or white bags. Put white and blue tissue paper in the bags and fill them will Hanukkah items like dreidels or homemade cookie shaped like dreidels or Stars of David. Younger guests might get a Hanukkah activity kit in each bag, and everyone will enjoy gelts in several different sizes. Tie silver ribbons or bows on each bag and set them on a table close to the door so guests can pick one up as they leave. It will make for a lasting memory of a wonderful party.
