Fear is a powerful emotion that can cripple ones attempts to achieve any goal. Fear like any negative emotion is a product of negative thoughts, which in turn lead to negative actions and consequently negative results.Before any negative or toxic emotion can be addressed, one needs to understand the source of such emotions and by so doing deal with the root cause.

Understanding one;s emotional state provides a key insight into the power of our emotions and how they directly impact our lives. At any point in time, a human being has a finite amount of emotion energy which consists of both positive and negative emotion.

Furthermore, people are directly impacted by whichever emotion they gives more energy to. The emotion equation states that:

Positive Emotion Energy + Negative Emotion Energy = 100% Total Emotion Energy

Therefore, the more a person focuses on developing positive emotions, the more the energy given to positive emotions and the more the energy taken away from negative emotions. The highly positive emotional profile will look as below:

A highly positive emotional profile is characterised by the following character traits:

Clarity of mind and definiteness of purpose

Generally optimistic attitude and positive mind-set

A solution-focused mind-set as opposed to an excuse-focused mind-set

A strong commitment to see a goal through and an ability to get back up after any setback

Feeling energised

All of the above are valuable traits necessary for the achievement of any goal or objective. On the contrary, an individual with a negative emotional profile will be primarily focused on negative and toxic emotions that will do very little to serve such a person.

Negative emotional states are characterised by the following:

Constant state of worry, fear and concern

A highly excuse focused mind-set

An inability to see through the achievement of a goal

A lack of definiteness of purpose

Feeling of emotional and physical exhaustion

These emotions do not serve and repeated focus on such emotions only cause long term emotional, mental and physical damage. You want to ensure that as much as possible, you are in a positive state of mind for as long as possible. This contributes to a healthy mental and emotional conditioning and before you realise it, you will not only begin to develop the strength needed to achieve your goal but you will also begin to attract the right people and circumstances that will thrust you closer toward the fulfilment of your dreams
