subject: What Makes Unique Gifts ? [print this page]

We hear about unique gifts every day, but what really makes a unique gift?

First of all, let's talk about "being unique". How can we define uniqueness? Is it the attribute of the product that is created in limited quantities? Is it something that can be personalized? Is it something that cannot be easily bought in the main stream retail chains? We think it's a little bit of all. You can't call a product unique if thousands of other people own it. And you can't call it unique if it's mass produced and distributed all across the country. In our opinion, unique almost always means something that was produced in very limited quantity. That's why handmade products almost always make great unique gifts.

Now, let's talk about the gifts. Gifts can really be anything, and what you can give to another person as a gift can only be limited by your imagination. It can be a piece of jewelry or it can be an airplane (if you can afford it, of course). From our experience, the most popular kind of gifts is either jewelry, or accessories. Jewelry (especially, handmade jewelry) makes a great gift because it can personalized, it's not bulky, and it's very affordable. The same thing applies to accessories. Electronics also tend to be a popular gift idea for many people nowadays, especially with the rise of technology and a great selection of products out there.

All in all, it's really important to understand the personality of the gift recipient, because for different people the definition of "unique gifts" is different too. Some might find that a piece of handmade soap is the best gift that they could imagine. For some, there cannot be a better gift than an iPad. A good thing to keep in mind though - is to find a gift that will be memorable, something that will make an emotional connection between the person and the gift, something that will be making a person feel good every time he/she is using it.

With such a great selection of products now (online and offline) it's not hard to find the best unique gift for any occasion!
