subject: Car Strobe Equipment For Bright And Intense Lighting [print this page]

Car strobe equipment proves equally useful for providing flashy emergency lighting to convey a warning signal as well as for illuminating a treacherous road to complement weaker headlights. The emergency car lights strobe equipment in particular are useful for all kinds of weather conditions making them even more reliable. When it is extremely foggy out there, the strobe lights can be used to send across bright beams that will be spotted by approaching vehicles, to help avoid accidents. Moreover, emergency vehicles moving at high speeds through dense fog, smoke or rain can benefit from these intense beams as they can convey the severity of the situation to vehicles plying ahead and get a free path to move swiftly.

There is stroboscopic lighting equipment with LEDs of all colors in all directions for brilliant flashy lighting. There are specialized beacons too, which send across high intensity quad flashing for maximized output. In some cases even rotational patterns can be stimulated for additional visibility. There are more than 50 FSM quad settings in some of the car strobe lights available for emergency vehicles. There are multi-colored LEDs for car lights. Strobe, flashing dozens of rotational patterns, can also be quite effective in emergencies. Some strobes come with as many as 144 or even 200 LEDs which are mounted in arrays across multiple rows and columns. Rectangular or circular split arrays are used for maximum efficiency so that the lighting is available even if some individual LEDs are not functioning as expected.

SAE and Class 1 rated car strobe lights come with colored lenses and smooth, Lexan domes which can provide encapsulation for the lighting elements. These colored lenses can be varied depending upon the color of the beam required. 360 degree beacons are ideal for emergency car lights. Strobe lights usually draw very less current, sometimes less than 2 Amperes and almost always provide maintenance free operation. Furthermore, the warranty on the emergency lights usually takes care of servicing and upgrades at least for the first couple of years. The lights also provide the benefit of variable hole positions, which gives you greater flexibility when it comes to mounting the equipment. The strobes come with an anodized black base that is rugged and protects LEDs from excess vibration.

Clear polycarbonate lenses are used in some cases for car strobe lights to make them more effective and enhance the directional lighting of the beams. Sometimes a fixed center mirror is also provided with car lights. Strobe equipment comes with switching options to control the flashing and the intensity modes which can be varied to save energy. 14 to 20 joule output can be provided by strobes through 65 quad bursts per minute. While the output is maximized with these bursts, the visibility too can be enhanced through the use of colored domes or colored strobe tubes, spares of which are usually provided as part of the kit. Dual and alternating strobe lights are also used with center mirrors for greater visibility and effectiveness.
