subject: Home And Away Actress Jodi Gordon To Get Married Abroad In October [print this page]

Jodi Gordon, a former actress from the Australian soap Home and Away, has revealed that she and her fianc are considering tying the knot in an exotic destination abroad later this year.

Australian sports star, Braith Anasta, proposed to Gordon last year and the pair are thinking about joining in on the growing trend of destination weddings.

The Australian actress explained: "We want to go overseas - to get away from Sydney and take everyone on a little break - but we're still figuring it all out. We're still looking at the location. It's very full on.

"We're just trying to cement everything in place. I think these days with weddings you have that many options and it sets your head spinning about everything. But we have some really good options set in place and for us, it's just figuring out what we want to do."

The destination might not have been decided yet but the dress is a work in progress as Gordon confirmed she is working with the Australian male design duo J'Aton to create the perfect dress for her wedding abroad.

"The J'Aton boys and I are knotting it out and figuring out all the bits and pieces," Gordon said. "It's like a whole other job in itself, but it's fun."

The pair got engaged last year and 26-year-old Gordon spoke about the proposal.

"The sexiest date I've ever been on was the proposal, of course. The way he proposed was very natural and real. It was just about us and setting up our future. There was something sexy about that," she said.

The nuptials are planned for October this year which is off season for Anasta, the Sydney Roosters captain. Rumours are circulating that the couple will be getting married abroad in Bali or Fiji.

The rugby player added: "It's obviously going to be a big year for us, and there's not long to go now. We're really excited about getting married."

Destination weddings are becoming a popular choice for thousands of couples all over the world and celebrity couples who chose weddings abroad over traditional ceremonies at home last year included Tara Reid and Zack Kehayov, who got married on a cliff top on the picturesque island of Santorini in Greece, and Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo who tied the knot on Richard Bransons private Necker Island in the Caribbean.

Idyllic spots for tropical weddings abroad include the Caribbean, the Maldives, Fiji, Hawaii and Mediterranean island nations including Cyprus and Greece.
