subject: Sciatica And Ways To Handle Sciatica Pain [print this page]

Sciatica pain is known to many of us and its all to with the sciatic nerve in a human body that is known to be the biggest nerve in a body. My research on sciatica pain and its impacts started when I found myself in a scenario dealing with lower back pain on daily basis after being involved in a car crash. From pillar to post, dealing with various doctors with the passage of time, I gathered that medication might not be the saviour that would take me away from the painful situation I was in. I think some people strongly believe that medication would yield long-term affects ignoring that fact that if that medication is used on regular basis, this may have an impact in the long run and generate more problems. I took medication several times a day to find a cure for my back but it didn"t disappear permanently.

I joined several forums with intent to know how other people found a cure to sciatica and if I am being honest, most people believed that surgical treatments and regular medication seemed the only way to cure this problem. Home remedies and exercises seemed at the back end as everyone wanted a cure straight away. Anti imflamaties may help resolve back ache but only to a limited extent as their relief is short-lived with passage of time. Regular medication is known to relieve patients suffering from back ache however it may not yield long term fruitful results. Surgical treatments are another well known way nowadays in dealing with sciatica however one must not ignore the fact the having expensive surgical treatments might not be feasible to all people.

After going through back pain myself, I wanted to find a way that could yield long term results rather then solving my problem for a few weeks temporarily. Regular exercise on the other hand offered an effective long term solution. Such exercises may not yield a result straight away in a matter of days however it may cure back pain more effectively then any pain relieving medication. Few exercises in a day enabled me to strategic actions against back pain and it started getting better with time. I felt satisfied that I am not having to punish my stomach by taking all sorts of medication to cure back pain; instead regular exercise helped me more. One has to admit that such exercises strong will power and determination in order to carry them on daily basis. People may want to choose medication or surgical treatments as a short cut to cure back pain however exercise proves to be less expensive and more appropriate way in dealing with back pain.
