subject: The Condition Of Government Schools In India [print this page] Though India boasts of belonging to the worlds fast developing economies, it still suffers from some acute problems. This country is known for the quality of education it imparts to the students, and Indian students have, since long proved their excellence in various competitions held both nationally and internationally. All the credit goes to the Indian schools which believe in creating a strong foundation for the students who have a thorough knowledge of all the subjects. But the picture is somewhat different if looked at from another angle. In a recent ranking, it has been showed that India ranks pretty low in the educational sector. A majority of the population attributes the dismal condition of the government schools in India for this. India is a mixed economy and needs the intervention of the government in the educational area as well. It has set up many government schools which are trying to educate the illiterate masses of the country. But, the condition of the government schools in India is really poor and needs serious makeover to achieve the desired results. Barring two or three states In India, all the other states in India have very poor educational statistics. Due to the increasing awareness regarding the importance of going to schools, more and more students are enrolling into the school. The condition of the schools is not being lifted to the levels of excellence as it should be. In addition to this the condition has far worsened. The students in these schools generally come from poor families who cannot afford education. These schools have to be more developed as they have to be an all round source of education for these deprived children It is very awkward to mention that the problem of poor schooling has been prevalent for many years in India. Though there are specials grants for the government schools in India, still they are not channelized as they should be. The attitude of the concerned authorities towards these children is not only indifferent and inhuman but also derogatory. More could have been done if the people involved, were a little more responsible and dutiful.
