There are several trails through the forest and the mountains that can be enjoyed on foot, on horseback or bicycle. Mountain biking is popular in the Ardennes and there are several facilities where you can rent bikes and all safety equipment needed to enjoy these trails and have a lot of fun.

There are many castles in the region, ranging from medieval fortifications like in Montcarnet to luxurious country houses in Bazeilles for example. Because of the history of the region, military fortifications have played a very important role and thus there is an extremely strong presence. The restored 19th century fortifications in the Ayzelles are open to the public, with tours of this fascinating structure. The beautiful abbey of Mouzon has a distinctive architecture and visitors can enjoy concerts every Sunday during the summer.
There are beautiful cities in the French Ardennes, such as Sedan with its castle and Charleville.
There is also a World Puppet Festival, held each September in the town of Charleville-Mezieres which is worth going to.
