The University of Illinois boasts the largest Greek population in the country over 95 organizations with 6,850 members, which is 22% of the student body. Of the schools 64 chapters, nine are historically black Greek-letter organizations, showcasing the schools emphasis on tradition and diversity.

Members are involved not only in their organizations but hold leadership positions within Student Government and play an integral role in the community. Most Greek organizations at Ole Miss require members to participate in a certain number of service hours each semester, in addition to chapter responsibilities.

The University of Georgia houses over 61 chapters for mens and womens Greek organizations, comprising 23% of the student body. UGA is known among Greek organizations nationwide as having some of the most beautiful fraternity and sorority houses out there, including Greek Revival and Victorian mansions. Many members of the chapters at UGA are legacies, so history is very important to them. Rush can be highly competitive, and the social scene is booming every night of the week. In other words Greek life in Georgia is not for the faint at heart.
