subject: 4 Tips For Choosing A Pool Service Company [print this page]

There is nothing worse than finding out right before company will be over in the summer that you are in need of pool service. Some services can be managed regularly, like cleaning and vacuuming, but when something breaks down, you need an expert to help you figure it out.

Here are four tips to keep in mind when youre looking for a pool service company:

1. Ask if they can work around your schedule. Its important when you hire a pool service company that you make that you arent placing restrictions on your own schedule by hiring them. If its not convenient for you, then it doesnt make sense to hire the company. Cleaning and regular maintenance should always be done around your schedule. That is, after all, the meaning of service.

2. Find out the extent of their services. Some pool owners find out that the pool service company they hired to clean their pool regularly hires people who dont know much about filters and the basic aspects of how a pool works. This means that you have to go elsewhere when you need something with your pool fixed. It also means that your pool cleaning person wont be able to recognize that there is a problem, which could mean that the issue might get worse before you even notice it.

3. Ask what brands of equipment they service. Many pool service companies will be able to serve several different brands of pool filters, but it doesnt hurt to ask. Also be sure to ask for details about the companys service ability with other aspects of your pool, like whether they deal with sand, earth, or cartridge filters.

4. Find out whether the chemicals are included. With some companies, you will never have to buy pool chemicals again because their experts will add chemicals whenever they check the levels and find out that chemicals are needed. In some cases, you may find that the service practically pays for itself because you dont have to buy chemicals anymore.

Every pool owner needs an expert watching out for their pool every summer to make sure that it stays in good working order.
