subject: Hypnosis Tapes [print this page]

A special niche exists in the word of hypnosis for audio suggestion. Based on the sciences surrounding sleep, hypnosis tapes allow the brain to receive suggestion while in a state of rest.

This state of rest is considered a state of receptivity. Without the sensory bombardment that occurs while awake, the mind is able to evaluate and absorb gentle suggestions that would otherwise be drowned out during our waking hours.

Sensory tapes are listened to while asleep. Though each hypnotist has their own methods and theories, the basic principle remains the same. Using calm, quiet tones, words and phrases are repeated through the headset.

These phrases will differ depending on the desired outcome, but the power of repetition remains the same. This power of repetition can be applied while someone is awake, though the effect is different.

For an individual to repeat a phrase over and over, that individual must convince themselves of whatever it is they are repeating. When the repetition occurs while sleeping, the subconscious mind takes over, engraining the audio into the receptive part of the brain. When the subject awakens, it is no longer a matter of convincing; the brain is already operating in the new state of thought.

Tapes for hypnosis are available for many common ailments. Smoking, weight loss, sleep disorders, and chronic pain, are just a few of the physical issues widely treated by audio therapy.

Physical maladies are not the only problems for which people seek solutions. Many mental health issues can be addressed as well. Low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and fear can all be treated with the use of appropriate therapeutic tapes.

Problem solution is not the only benefit of using audio hypnosis during sleep. General self-improvement is a much sought after application. Increasing vocabulary, language skills, and memory are all possible applications of a hypnotist's tapes.

When researching which recording to purchase, it is important to consider the credentials of the hypnotist creating the audio feed. Someone with credentials, experience, and a long list of references should be who you make your purchase from. Unknown hypnotists may offer similar products with similar success rates, but it is better to be certain than to be sorry.

Misinformation is not the only concern with buying therapeutic tapes from an unknown hypnotist. The tone and frequency of the audio is just as important as the words being repeated. Improper tone, poor recording quality, background noise, and broken speech can all disrupt sleep. Without the proper amount of sleep, any issues we are seeking resolution for ultimately become worse.

If general well-being is not necessarily what you are looking for-maybe you just want a peaceful night's sleep-then a more minimal form of audio therapy is available. Sound hypnosis, using relaxing tones and frequencies, can be used to ease the mind out of its aware state and push it gently into the state of relaxation.

Again, importance is placed on finding the correct music to listen to. Music is often used to facilitate emotions, and negative emotions during sleep will result in a less restful slumber.
