Set your own goals - Everybody you know has some kind of goal, whether its just to get through the day without shouting at someone or to win an Olympic gold medal! The trick is to know how to achieve that goal. With these two examples I guess for one you would have to count to ten a lot and for the other train constantly for years! But for both of these you would have to break them down into two categories short and long term. Short term for these would be dont shout at anyone for a day or achieve a specific time within say a month. Long term would be dont shout at anyone for a month and achieve a personal best time in 6 months. Network marketing is no different. Your long term goal is obviously to sponsor as many people into your company as possible. It doesnt really matter what your long term number is (obviously the higher the better) but this long term goal then can be broken down into short term goals of x numbers per day or week or month. This gives you a clearer picture of where you are going and of how many people you have to talk to per day, week or month in order to achieve your long term goal.

Too many people come into network marketing thinking that it is some kind of get rich quick thing that only requires the minimum amount of effort before the money starts rolling in. How wrong is that?! The benefits of working in network marketing can be so much better than being a faceless employee but, lets face it, it does take work. If you were to invest all your money plus some from a bank into a business venture would you just work at making it a success for a few hours a week? No chance! You would work your socks off to make sure it was a success. You need the same mindset with a network marketing business that is you are going to work at it every day for as long as you can! Dont worry, it will get easier and if you have the correct mindset the hours required will soon drop!

You should focus on making money at all times. The most important thing in any business is making money and MLM is no different. the things that make you money are marketing, sponsoring people and selling your product or opportunity. Checking your emails or Facebook every ten minutes certainly does not fall into that category and it could be argued that it should be last on your list every day. Having said that you could be waiting on an important email so need to keep checking. Have another tip here If they say they are going to send an email straight away and it takes hours to arrive dont drop everything to reply. It probably means that the person you are dealing with is focused on making money and isnt checking or sending emails every ten minutes!! Try and get into the habit of having a quick look at your emails first thing, taking a note of the ones you need to reply to and then going onto your money making activities before responding.

Use the internet. You have probably realised by now that the old school methods of building any network marketing business is on the way out. While these methods will still show some results the uptake is pretty low. The old method of lists of leads limits you in the number of people you can contact but by using the power of the internet the world is waiting to be contacted!
