subject: Where To Get Ideas To Blog About [print this page]

Just like writers block, you may experience a mind-lock against current blogging. You know that you need to make your blogging site fresh and current, but no ideas come to mind. If you feel that you just cannot post or comment on your blogging site there are vehicles that will help you break through this problem.

Go to blogging sites by either visiting sites you already posted on or find new blogging venues. This will help you get ideas on what the current blogging feature is. Perhaps you will find a new topic or an idea will be formulated. Whatever was keeping you from blogging will probably be lifted.

Look at your blog inbox. You have probably received many postings from readers. These bloggers may provide you with ideas and suggestions that can be used in your current posting. Look at your website and get some ideas about changing the appearance. Perhaps you can use this as a blog topic asking readers what changes they would suggest. This can also provide the added incentive of getting readers to look at your site.

As you search through other blogging sites, make comments on these sites. The ideas and postings that you comment may give ideas about what you should post on your blogging site. Invite others to visit your site. This will definitely get a conversation going.

Make comments on your blogging site about what is happening in the world. Use current events, weather problems or just the latest entertainment topics. Although these issues are not in sync with your website and niche group, it may get a dialogue started and a blog topic expanded. Anything can go on a blogging site.

As you think about what to write, find a word or topic that interests you. Begin writing. List your ideas on a word document, write to that list and cut and paste as you develop your blog.

Pictures or scenes can also help when you are feeling blocked. Look through old photos or images on the web and ideas may instantly come to you. You can always find the words to describe a picture. Post this on your blog if you believe it will help. If you are absolutely stymied about what to write, it may help to search for creative or journal writing software to help you with your writing problems. This software may also give you examples and ideas about what to write.

If nothing seems to come to mind, just leave the blogging for a bit. Take a walk or a nap or just visit personally with friends. Getting away from the situation will help you. Do not just sit and stare at your computer; that will definitely not help with the blogging block. A few hours or even a day can make a big difference in blogging block. Use the techniques that writers use leave the situation for a bit then come back when you fell invigorated. Above all, do not be discouraged. Discouragement will only cause stress.
