subject: Can I Just Apply A Backyard Hose To Wash My House Windows Or Is That Terrible For Them? [print this page]

If you are going to clean your home windows you probably have thought about just spraying down your home windows with a garden tube and then being done with it. If you are thinking about doing this I would strongly propose that you do not do this. I will lay out in this commentary the reasons you should never clean your house windows just from spraying them down. Even though I am not a total professional in the window cleansing industry I do have wide knowledge with hard water and outside residential window cleaning which is what backs this commentary.

The primary reason is that most water has minerals in it. These minerals remain on windows once they are scrubbed down and cause mineral deposits to form. These mineral deposits are known as hard water and are tremendously not easy to remove. Hard water left on windows also can permanently damage your house windows making them impossible to look out and completely removing the point of having a window in the foremost place.

The second reason you should not have your house windows scrubbed just by washing them down is that most house windows will have screens on them. These screens will trap any dust behind them and can trap and store mineral deposits in the grime which again cause hard water. Additionally windows are never going to get very clean if the screens are holding dirt behind them.

The last and final reason you should not wash your house windows by spraying them down is for the reason that it just looks horrible. house windows that have just been sprayed down look like there are a bunch of droplets all over the window permanently. It is literally like a shower door that has not been cleaned properly. If you are going to actually scrub your home windows you might as well do it or have it done correctly instead of taking the trouble-free way out.

If you would like to know more about window washing I would recommend hiring a professional or talking with a specialist window cleaner. They will be more than cheerful to help you out and in many cases offer you a really great deal on window cleansing in your home. You can also be sure that they will do a great field and clean the home windows with a squeegee not a garden hose. Good luck with whatever opportunity you decide to go with whether its spraying your house windows down or cleansing them the right way with a mop and squeegee.
