subject: Ways To Reduce The Process Of Aging [print this page]

Aging may have a lot of undesirable effects on the body. Nobody looks forward to the obvious ravages of time. If you want to remain feeling and looking as young as possible you will need to keep off the drugs and alcohol. It is no wonder to see many people who have lived a way of life of drugs and alcohol appear considerably older than they really are. They can damage the internal organ systems as well, so hold on to your youth and stay away!

As we get on in years we begin to realize that eating a healthier diet on a daily basis becomes more of a priority; however its good to have a treat once and a while. Don't you just love to eat your favorite food? Maybe chocolate chip cookies are your pick? You can make these treats yourself and enjoy eating them with the family or a close friend. Enjoy the companionship of someone you love with something you enjoy!

As you get older it is important that do not feel in any way inferior to others as you begin to lose your youthfulness. There is no getting away from it as we age we may need help from others to do the things we can longer do but, this should not make you think you are any less a person than you where before.

Keeping old age at bay can be effectively achieved by keeping your body and mind as active as possible within your own given abilities. Sitting idly, will speed up muscular decay and before you know it, you will be stuck with a sedentary lifestyle. Acquiring the habit of walking briskly for 15 minutes a day is great for your health.

Maintain your muscle mass by getting exercise on a regular basis. Use a pedometer and make sure that you are taking at least 5,000 to 10,000 steps each day. Through regular exercise you will strengthen your muscles and bones and this will also help to improve your coordination and balance.

Its important not to think that as we age we are growing old and frail. Change your attitude towards aging as a time in your life to experience, learn and above all enjoy different experiences . For example, if there is an activity that you have always wanted to do but did not have the time when you were younger then, do it now. This can be a trip around the world, train to be chef or become a painter like Picasso. Even a new pet can bring new joy and be a positive learning experience!

Just because you are taking a good multivitamin everyday doesn't imply that you do not have to consume a good diet. Make sure to take the time to understand what food products provide your body with what vitamins and balance your diet plan as necessary. This knowledge will enable you to make better foods choices that can help to improve your health and well being.

Surround yourself with excellent people. If you realize that the individuals you spend most of your time with are grumpy more frequently than they are joyful, consider looking for a new band of pals to hang out with. Probably the most effective way to stay young in both mind and body is to be happy and surrounding yourself with people who are happy will make this easier for you.
