Diabetes is a very common ailment of recent times. If diabetes is not diagnosed in time or remains untreated then it can give rise to severe health problems. Diabetes can affect the nerves, kidneys, and eyes to a great extent. One of the common problems of the diabetic patients is the damaging of the nerves and it is called diabetic neuropathy. Most of the nerve-related problems caused by the high sugar levels in the body are painful but in most of the cases the pain is not severe.

The various types of diabetic neuropathy are-

1- Diabetic peripheral neuropathy- The most common areas which get affected by this are the legs and feet. The foot sensation is lost due to damaged nerve and the chances of foot problems get increased. As the sensation of the foot is not there, nay cut or sore cannot be recognized. Proper foot care is needed. The symptoms of this disease are-

1.Burning sensation

2.Numbness of foot

3.Pain in the affected areas

If the blood sugar level is kept under control then the symptoms get reduced. Regular care of foot and legs are very important. Take care of nails properly. Wear such footwear which can provide breathing space to your legs.

2- Diabetic autonomic neuropathy- The main area which gets affected is the digestive system of the body. Stomach, urinary system, sex organs, blood vessels etc. are the various organs which get affected by this disease. The various symptoms of this diabetic neuropathy are-

1.diarrhea

2.swelling of the affected area

3.vomiting

4.constipation

5.the stomach seems to be full even after eating small amount

6.nausea

To get rid of this disease one should control the blood sugar level strictly. It is better to seek the doctors advice to get proper medicine and one should eat smaller meals. The various symptoms of the autonomic Diabetic Neuropathie of the blood vessels are-

1. When standing up suddenly, blacking out happens

2. Heart rate is increased

3. Dizziness

4. Having low blood pressure

5. Nausea and vomiting tendency

The treatments and preventions to be taken for the autonomic diabetic neuropathy are-

6. Do not stand up too quickly

7. Consult doctor to get proper medications

8. One must wear special stockings

Diabetes is proving out to be a deadly disease and it is better to go for regular blood sugar checkups after certain age is reached so that diabetes can be prevented.
