This results in ketosis. These diets have medium results to the persons undergoing it.

Low calorie diets cause an energy deficit of up to 1000 calories per day and hence results in weight loss of up to 0.4 kilograms to 1 kilogram with in just one week. In very low calorie diet, the food intake will provide 200 to 800 calories per day by maintaining high protein intake and very less fat and carbohydrate intake. It is observed that this diet can provide a weight loss of about 1.5 to 2.5 kilograms per week. The low calorie diet is usually chosen by most if the people because of its effectiveness and its less adverse effects.
