subject: Time To Learn Conversational Hypnosis [print this page] By definition Conversational Hypnosis is the ability to subtly suggest information to another person. The term Conversational is given to this technique because it is used during a regular conversation without the other person noticing. Another term used for this type of hypnosis is Covert Hypnosis. The objective of this hypnosis is to manipulate the other persons thoughts, which can in turn lead to actions in the hypnotists favor.
A simple day to day example where such a technique can be beneficial is sales. Imagine if you were a salesperson and you used this technique on at least 50% of your customers, you would probably be the number one salesperson in your organization, because you could simply hypnotize all your customers into purchasing from your showroom.
In actual fact hypnosis was known since the first century when it was referred to by the Persian psychologist Ibn Sina, and even further back in the times of ancient India, Egypt and Greek as a tool for health. However, due to certain beliefs that hypnosis is some sort of black magic and is an unethical technique, hypnosis was not introduced publically to the world until later.
Truly hypnotic techniques can be used to inflict damage in some instances. Like morphine, hypnosis was developed for honest purposes, but in the wrong hands, may be used for evil instead of good. This tool can be an asset to many in the hands of the right professional.
Unfortunately, we live in a time where hardly anything is restricted to the hands of the professionals. Hypnosis courses are available to the public, and are not only attended in a classroom setting, but also directly into the comfort of our homes through the internet.
The person behind the theory of covert hypnosis is American psychiatrist, Milton Hyland Erickson, (1901 1980). Hyland who dealt in hypnosis and family therapy was the founder and president of the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis. From his notes and theories the Milton Model was created back in year 1975.
The Milton model is a model for indirect interpersonal communications. Also recently inspired by Ericksons theories is Igor Ledochowski, a renowned Master Hypnotist, creator of The Power of Conversational Hypnosis and The Secrets of Hypnosis Revealed which are home study hypnosis courses, amongst other books he has written on covert hypnosis.
If you dont believe in hypnosis then you should consider moments when you are driving and seem to zone out, or go into autopilot, and suddenly you find you have reached your destination, but you have no recollection of the journey. This zoning out or as Dr. Erickson refers to it, open trance is the basis of his theory.
Although not many may be able to master the skill of hypnosis, and others may remain skeptical of its power, you may want to give it a try and be your own judge. As a personal benefit, you may have a lot to gain, particularly if you learn conversational hypnosis and master its techniques, as this might open many doors of opportunity for you.
