I know you will be thinking about the strangeness of it but my wife enjoys weekend getaways and this was her idea. Well, we finally settled on Coorg as a destination. We had heard from friends who had been there that this was the most romantic place in southern India. Well, it was decided one night and in the morning we were off after placing a few calls at the hotels in Coorg. So there I was on the highway with two things I absolutely love, my wife and my Logan. It was along drive but I never felt bored as it was fun traveling long distance with my wife after such a long time. The Logan is also very comfortable to travel in and gives a very good mileage. It was smooth sailing till Coorg.
We stayed at Mahindra Homestays. They offer a range of quality homestays in Coorg. It was a beautiful experience. The Kodagu region of Karnataka, often referred to as Coorg (the English version of its name), is an extremely picturesque and alluring mountainous area in south India. The area is renowned for its coffee plantations. Its stunning scenic beauty is captivating. Food and coffee lovers will get great pleasure from visiting Coorg. Imagine waking up with your loved one each morning to the fragrant aroma of coffee, fresh from the estates, and later in the day feasting on the distinctly spicy cuisine that the region is famous for. What a treat it was! The highlight of a visit to Coorg is Abbey Falls, near the main town of Madikeri. The cardamom and coffee plantations that surround the falls really enhance its beauty. It's possible to hike there, as well as enjoy other treks around the area. Head to Raja's Seat for breathtaking sunsets and panoramic views across the valley, although it's much quieter there in the morning. This garden spot was apparently a favorite of the Kings of Kodagu.
My wife and me absolutely loved Coorg and we have decided to go there soon and by the looks of it we won't have the patience to wait till our next anniversary.
