subject: How To Stream Millions Of Songs To Your Lounge [print this page]

We all know the scenario; we are listening to the radio and hear a great song, be at an old classic or another great new hit record. We now need get that song again and listen to it once more. You now have to choices; you can either spend 10 minutes or so loading up your computer, searching the internet, purchasing your track, entering your login and password details before hearing it again. But what if your computer is not in your lounge? Well in this situation you would need to copy it to a CD before listening to it on your hi fi. Even if you have it on a laptop you would still suffer from lower speaker quality. Alternatively you could search for the song on your iphone app and get it streamed to your stereo. That's has got to be a far superior option!

There is far more that online streaming offers than finding that one song. You can listen to what you want, when you want and how you want. It really is the future, or present, as there is nothing really stopping you from doing this right now.

So what do you need to do this. First you would need a streaming music service. There are plenty of these around, but the most popular ones are Napster and Spotify. Both of these have their own pros and cons but either is very suitable to the task at hand. Next you will need a device to play this one. Again there are plenty of these available, the more popular ones are Sonos and Logitech devices. Logitech are cheaper and provide a very quick way to get set up. Their squeezebox radio is fully integrated with Napster, provides great sound and also streams thousands of radio station from all over the world. This includes all your local station and those found on your DAB service, only the sound quality is usually of a higher bit rate and therefore better quality.

So with this simple set up you can now stream music over the internet direct to your lounge, or bedroom or whichever room you choose. I would suggest all of them! The other advantage of this is you can also use your streaming account to listen to what you want at work! You will also need an internet connection but generally music doesn't require much bandwidth so just about any connection will be suitable.
