subject: Ways Other Than Natural Mole Removal [print this page]

Although a person need not worry with moles, some have their disadvantages. Some moles are so huge that they may feel uncomfortable. Some could be located so openly that a person may be afraid to be seen in public. Apart from natural mole removal techniques, a person may employ other means. You should never remove a nevi before you consult a doctor first. This is to avoid causing more harm in case the mole is hiding a cancer.

You may decide to cut it off or excising it. The doctor will first administer a dose of anesthetic to numb the skin around the mole. This method is preferred by many because of the low cost involved. If the procedure is not completed successfully, you risk having it grow back. A dark patch may also be left where the mole was.

To avoid having it grow back, an elliptical excision may be performed. Before beginning, an anesthetic is administered. The nevi and the skin around it are then curved out. This method may leave a permanent scar. Risk of bleeding a lot is also there. Unless a high standard of hygiene is practiced, a person may suffer an infection.

You may also consider having laser surgery. This is most suitable for the flat kind of Nevis, especially the dark colored ones. The treatment breaks down the melanin sending it for absorption by the skin. Many people may however not be able to afford such kind of treatment.

Another way of getting rid of the mole is by use of liquid nitrogen. Here the doctor puts the liquid in a special gun used for dispensing the nitrogen. He will hold down onto the affected area with it so that the mole is exposed to the nitrogen. It may hurt for a few minutes at that time and in the few days that follow. Avoid any contact with that place. It will only take a few days and then the mole will come loose. When it does, look for a safe way of getting rid of it.

Duct tape can also be used to get rid of it successfully. A piece of duct tape is cut and used to cover the mole. Do not disturb it, but leave it alone for a few days. You could add more tape on top of that one to sort of make it suffocate. When the five days are over gently lift the tape off. It should be able to come out with the mole.

Dental floss could also be used as another alternative. It is tied very firmly on the mole. This will stop blood from flowing into the mole. At first some discomfort may be felt, but this will subside with time. Eventually the mole will fall off.

You may also prefer to buy pharmaceutical products. These products are in easy to carry containers. Unlike natural mole removal products, you can use them anywhere and at anytime. All you need to do is read the instructions carefully. Wrong use of such products may result in negative effects to your skin.
