During the process of the mineral selection, only a few rich ore can be directly sent to the smeltery after the primary crushing and sieving, while most mineral ores must be milled to 0.1---0.074mm or even finer. Therefore, milling mineral ores is an important working procedure.
The effect of the fine milling is better than the rough milling. The feeding size is no bigger than 60mm in fine milling and the most suitable feeding size is below 6mm. Ball mill is widely used in the industrial fields like mental, non-metal and construction.
The machine is drived from the edge and discharged in the middle. It is made up of the discharge hatch, end shield, quill shaft, tunnel body, big and small gears, speed reducer and motor.
The working process: The mineral ores enter the tunnel body from the quill shaft continuously. When the rotation of the tunnel body will create the centrifugal force and friction force, it will take the medium (steel ball) and material to a definite height. Then the medium (steel ball) and material will drop in a parabola way. The milling of the mineral ore depends on the impact when the medium drops and the friction force when it moves. The movement of the mineral ore is realized by the continuous pressure from the given mineral ore. Then the products will be discharged from the quill shaft. The products will be taken by water in wet milling and it will be taken by airstream in dry milling.
The motor drives the small gear move through the speed reducer, then drives the big gear on the tunnel body rotate at a constant speed.
In order to make ball mill work smoothly and extend its service life, users must have knowlege of the installation and running of ball mill. The installation of ball mill follows the following requirements besides the technical requirements on the drawing.
1. Examine the quality of the important spare parts: tunnel body, the gear, the main bearing, the rotating bearing and motor
2. Clean the required spare parts before installation (pay special attention to the composition plane and sliding bearing surface). The spare parts which have already been fixed on the machine must be checked about the chassis before running empty.
3. Modify the distance between two bearing chassises according to the specific length of tunnel body and size of quill shaft and the distance between the feeding end and the main bearing. Then design the foundation.
4. The requirements on the design of the foundation
(1) The distance error not more or less than 3mm between longitudinal and lateral middle line on the basic abutments.
(2) More or less than 5mm is permitted on the elevation of permanent concrete.
5. Injection or grouting
(1) The injection generally adopts the fine gravel concrete or cements magma. The serial number is one higher than the basic concrete at least. When grouting, it should be firm and when firming, the knock on equipment, iron pad and holding down bolts is forbidden in order to avoid affecting the precise installation of the equipment.
(2) Remove the oil stain and dust, and keep the chassis clean before grouting
(3) The grouting layer should be sticked to the foundation. Therefore, the dust in the holding down bolts should be cleaned.
(4) Design the anti-pressure strength of grouting layer above 75% of the designed strength.
