subject: Learning To Let Go And Enjoy [print this page]

We are not grafted in to give something or to get something. We get in relationship with God and right away we begin to try to do all these things and give all these things so we can earn what he wants to give freely. Let me tell you something: when we come to Christ, we are pretty sick folks, we are pretty messed up, and we need time of just clinging to the vine. Before you start trying to run your race, you would better learn how to stay seated in Christ. A lot of people get saved and next week they want to have a worldwide ministry. Can I tell you something? Just forget it laughing: because all you are going to do is make a fool out of yourself. You do not need to get saved and start making your main thing prosperity. You do not need to get saved and start making your main thing your ministry. You need to get saved and you need to hang onto the vine, you need to cling, you need to let the richness and the sap of that vine pour into your wounded soul. You need to receive the love of God. You need to just learn how to receive and today I'm working toward teaching you how to receive because a lot of people spend their life trying to get. Get means to obtain by struggle and effort. He wants us to receive. To receive means to act like a receptacle and simply take in what's being offered. Did you hear me? If you are trying to get God to bless you.. If you are even reading the word as a law, even if you could manage to read six chapters every day, you would just be proud of yourself and now you would expect God to do something for you and when he did, you would not even be grateful because you would think you deserved it, and then you would probably have a judgmental attitude toward all the sweet little people who are reading maybe like one psalm a day. They are tickled pink but now you have to judge them and be critical because: You are not? That is why God never lets our little plans work. We can start out: I'm gonna do this and I'm gonna do that. Bless God, I'm gonna do this. Now yes, we do have to make a decision but when we make a decision, we have to take our steps totally leaning on God every step of the way. Just as Joyce Meyer said to Jesus: Throw me the football and I will make the touchdown.
