subject: Throw A Movie Trilogy Party [print this page]

Movie marathons are a great way to spend time with friends that share your love for that certain trilogy. Why not go all the way and have a full blown out party? You can plan it all yourself, or you can get together with your friends and plan it together. The more you can stick to the theme of your movie with food, dcor and atmosphere all around the better your experience.

For the best viewing possible rent a projector and give your friends that aww feeling when they show up and realize they will be seeing their favorite characters life size or larger. If you do not have a wall to use or a screen you can hang a sheet or large fabric. If you have surrounds sound even better, this will put you right into the movie and bring an experience like no other.

You may want to order a pizza and wings, or if you like to cook, you can make the meal. Just make sure it is couch friendly. You do not want make something that is going to require cutting up or that is too involved. Keep it easy and keep in mind you will be eating in the living room most likely on the couch or chairs. Unless you have TV trays or small tables for your guests to use, then pretty much anything goes. You could even make something from the movie if possible. Of course, you do not necessarily have to have a dinner; you could just have snacks and hold the marathon after the dinner hour. Keep a cooler or tub of ice nearby to for your drinks, this way there is less traffic to the kitchen and you will not have to pause the movie as often.

Depending on the popularity of your movie selection you could pick up some decorative plates, cups and napkins with your movie theme on them to accommodate your party at your local party store. If not you can always print pictures out that you find online and tape them onto cups.

Playing drinking games is another way to enjoy your marathon. Make up fun rules such as everyone drinks whenever a famous movie quote is spoken. Or if any of the characters is known to repeat the same phrase through out the movie you can have everyone drink whenever it is spoken. You know the movie, make up some good ones and everyone will enjoy playing along and even add their own ideas.
