You can have three types of treatment for post traumatic stress disorder. The first is the usual medicines; you could also have therapy sessions. Finally if you have a severe case then you will have to have both medicines as well as therapy.

Normally treatment for this will take around 6 weeks to 12 weeks. But sometimes it might even take a longer amount of time. The type of treatment used and the duration basically varies from person to person. Usually when you undergo treatment for post traumatic stress disorder you need to stay away from drugs or even alcohol. Instead of helping the problem, it has been seen in most cases that it makes the problem worse. Therefore, it hampers your treatment and getting cured is going to take a long time for you.
