The first victory of firm comes in Australian court ruling last month that lifted an earlier ban on the tablet in the country. Both leading firms, Samsung and Apple have filed at least 30 lawsuits against each other in four continents since April and used to being sued one another. The situation is turning out be positive for Samsung, and now it was reported that Samsung will be able to receive patent license fees from Apple.
However, Apple has won a one-week extension of the Australian ban on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 on Dec. 2, it will be effective until the countrys top court considers the iPad makers request for permission to appeal the Nov. 30 decision by a lower court. Samsung modified the tablets design last month and renamed it Galaxy Tab 10.1N to avoid a German sales ban upheld by a Dusseldorf court in September. In October, Samsung changed the photos of the three Galaxy-phone models in the Dutch market to avoid a ban won by Apple in August.
However, the Global tablet sales are expected to blow up to more than 50 million in 2011. Apple has sold more than 30 million iPads so far, is expected to continue to dominate the sales of market in the coming time ahead. Meanwhile, Apples new CEO Tim Cook is under new pressure to show that he can fill the large voyage of his predecessor, late the vision of Apple, Steve Jobs.
The analysts said that customers are held off buying iPhones in the September quarter, as they were waiting for the launch of the latest iPhone 4S in October, although tablets has a bright future ahead of iPhone. The company has moved up from 11.12 million units during the quarter sales, regardless of many attempts made by several competitors in the race, which includes Samsung. Samsungs also moved steps to capture a slice of the tablet market. And now Amazon.com has also entered the fight with its Kindle Fire tablet, but Samsungs Galaxy line-up is widely believes the closest rival in terms of capability and design to the iPad.
Considering the competition, Apple CEO Cook said it was reasonable to say and none of Apples rivals have gained any grip, and Cook is expecting that the tablet market will be bigger than personal computer in coming long term future.
