subject: Glorify God With Our Bodies [print this page] Thats 10 teaspoons of fatThats 10 teaspoons of fat. For dinner he has roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, a roll and butter, salad dressing and salad, cake with frosting because it was a little girls birthday and milk. 23 teaspoons of fat. A grand total of 52 teaspoons of fat. Youre talking about gross? Look at this! This is really gross and Im getting this all over my new sweatsuit, too, but thats okay. This is fat, purchased from Tom Thumb. Not that Tom Thumb sells fat in food this is lard that we bought. Il do this. Look at this. Blech. Look at Mark, he cant wait. Ugh. I cant even get it off the spoon, here now, think what this does to your arteries! Oh, my goodness, gracious alive, look at that. Ew.
So, just visually, look at that. Look at what were putting into these engineering marvels, made in the image of God. Lets thank Metroplex Mark and Metroplex Judy. Thanks, yall. Thank you very much. What kind of fuel do we put into these bodies?
Here is the second way we glorify God with our bodies. Go back to the Porsche. If we had a Porsche, would we keep it in the garage, locked up? No, youve got to drive it. Now and then youve got to floor it, because the engine is made to rumble, its made to go. Our bodies are made to go, theyre made to rumble. Im talking about exercise. We need to exercise at least three to four times a week, twenty to thirty mintues, at 75% our heart rate capacity. Folks, I would not be saying this about the body if it was some act of vanity. I wouldnt waste a message on it. But were talking about Gods word. The Bible has a lot to say read the Old Testament concerning our diet and whats good for us. Let me go back to the scripture. Fellowship Church Grapevine says that the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 3:17, If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are. You know what amazes me? I love to do this. Lisa and I will go out to brunch after church, and well see some people. They walk in with their suits and their ties, theyve been to church.
