subject: God Welcomes Our Questions [print this page]

There was an awkward silenceThere was an awkward silence. His eyes welled up with tears and he said, Well, Ed, I dont know. He said, I have these questions about Jesus.

I said, Thats great. God welcomes our questions. Thats awesome you have questions. I said, What have you done with those questions?

Again, an awkward silence in the room because he had done nothing with those questions. Nothing.

Today we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and were going to have a bunch of services here at Fellowship and our other locations. And theres different groups of people here, and were all from unique backgrounds. Some of us accept the fact that Jesus came back from the grave. We believe it, we trust it and were like, Yeah, he did it. Its the essence of our faith, the foundation of who we are, and were here believing that and worshipping Jesus because of that.

But if you were backed into a corner, if you were pushed and you were kind of against the wall, could you give evidences to support your belief? You say you trust Jesus. You say you have faith. Could you give some evidences to someone asking a question about the resurrection of Christ? Could you?

Others here are part of the poinsettia and lily crowd. You show up Christmas and Easter. Im glad to have you again. I hope I havent aged too much since this past Christmas, but welcome to Fellowship Church. What have you been doing lately? I dont know. Were happy to have you here, though, and youre at Fellowship Church because its the thing to do.

Eat a little candy, maybe buy new outfits, have a little brunch, go to Ed Young Fellowship Easter services. And the resurrection, youre like youre saying, Thats cool. The resurrectionI think it could have happened. Ive got some questions and issues, but you know it probably did. Im not sure though, cause I read The DaVinci Code. I saw this A&E special. So you keep the things of Godespecially the resurrection of Jesusat an arms length.
