subject: Planning Your Holiday Ski Trip To Albuquerque [print this page]

There are a lot of reasons to plan a ski trip this winter for Albuquerque, New Mexico. Hotels and resorts await you as a nice holiday away from work, so hit the slopes for some winter outdoor bonding time with family and friends! Skiing is a great way to get exercise and experience the wonders of winter. So to help you get on your way to the snowy slopes heres a helpful guide for getting your trip planned in advance!

Set the Date With Everyone Involved

Once you decide whos going with you and for how long you want to be on the slopes, pick the days that your group will be available for. The skiing season usually ranges from mid-November all the way to July.

Consider the Ski Resort

Youll want to think about the ability of your group. If there are beginners youll want to make sure that there are lessons available that work well into your schedule (and finances.) Checking out the websites of the ski resorts at your destination will tell you what they offer as well as if there are any deals going on. Its also wise to checkout any nearby Albuquerque hotels to see if it would be cheaper to stay off the resort.

Think About Lodging

Do you want to stay at the resort or at a hotel? Resorts are very convenient and a less hassle way to stay because you dont need to worry about how you will get around. However they are often very pricey.

Hotels will require a vehicle to get to the slopes but they are often less expensive and can be next to shopping centers or any of the local entertainment so youre not just delegated to skiing. Youll want to book either of these well in advance and make sure they are paid on time or you might lose your reservation. Its also a good idea to make any other reservations to any other activity you may go see, such as fine dining or theaters.

Plan and Pack Accordingly

Youll want to plan well in advance what vehicles youll need for the trip and make sure their ready for a trip to the slopes. Decide when you want to leave and make a plan to stick to it so you dont arrive later than you wished.

When it comes to packing youll want to make sure you pack an extra two days of clothes in case you need it. Make a checklist of everything you need a week in advance so you can add anything you think of. You can then use this list to make sure you bring everything with you as well as ensure you have everything when you come back.

Along with the usual skiing equipment, dont forget some casual clothes for lounging around. Nothing is worse than being stuck in very hot winter clothes at a resort or hotel because you forgot to pack a normal set! Youll also want to ensure you bring sunscreen and lip balm! Many skiers forget this and come back from vacation with very obvious sunburns and chapped lips because of it!

With some great planning ahead of time youll spend less time worrying about the trip and what you may have forgotten and more time out in the snow!
