Then he perceives, Well, I will fake to Emmitt, and then Ill drop back and throw to Michael Irvin, or, Ill fake to Michael, throw to Alvin, boom. He delivers the ball. Hes not trying to get all the credit. The Cowboys want to win as a unit.

As Christians, we cannot try to get all the credit ourselves, whether you are a leader, a speaker, a greeter, one of our ushers, a worker with the youth, you open the door for people, youre on the sound, lighting, and technical crew up in the crows nest and behind this curtain. Were all important in the eyes of God and we all work together as a team.

In Exodus 18, Moses was trying to do it all one day. He was trying to judge everything. His father in law, by the name of Jethro, not Jethro Bodine, but Jethro, said, Moses, youre wearing yourself out! Delegate! Are you delegating your time, or are you trying to do it all?

The third and final phase of the Cowboys use of time is called post-game time. Post-game time. After the Cowboys finish the game, what happens? They are critiqued by the coaching staff, by the press, by the fans, on how they really made the most of their minutes. They really are. Theyre critiqued on this.

The Bible tells us that if were on Gods team, we have a heavenly post-game interview with the Lord. Hes going to look at me, Hes going to look at you, and Hes going to say, Ed Young , I gave you a certain amount of time. A certain amount of time. What did you do with those minutes? Think about an NFL player. They make the most of those minutes. The average career is only four years. They always have their eye on the clock. They know their next play could be their last. We should live our lives like that. God will say, How did you use your minutes? Were you into time-wasters, or were you into things that lasted for eternity?

The word tells us two things are going to last forever: relationships and the word of God. Everything else is going to burn up one day. Everything else will rust, it will fade, it will wear out, but not relationships and the word of God.
