subject: Favourite Locations For Spain Homes [print this page]

This is no surprise as Spain offers a warm, sunny climate year-round. The people are friendly, the cost of living is low, and the country offers incredible variety of locations.

Whether you enjoy being in the heart of the action in a city such as Madrid, Barcelona or Seville, or enjoy more rustic pursuits in the countryside, you will be able to find a holiday home to suit your desires. Of course, the most popular location is one of the Costas, and there is plenty to select from on the Costa Brava, Costa del Sol, Costa Blanca, or other locations.

Properties on the coasts tend to be more expensive than those in the inland areas, but they also tend to hold their value better, without suffering the difficulties that can happen in other areas.

Locations on a coast are also easier to let for holiday rentals, ensuring a good cash flow throughout the year so long as the property is maintained to a good standard. Of course, you can always reserve a few weeks for yourself and have a holiday home ready for your own enjoyment. For many people, this is the primary reason they look to buy property in Spain.

Properties in or near one of the larger cities are quite popular as well. Of course, there is the big advantage of having a large airport nearby, making getaways to your favourite destination easy and inexpensive.

In fact, many people begin their search for real estate in Spain near a town such as Madrid, Seville, or Barcelona because of the fact that they can reach it easily and cheaply. Properties here can be quite expensive because of the number of people; apartments or flats in the actual city can put a dent in almost anyones wallet.

Nevertheless, there are also properties available on the outskirts at a much more reasonable price that have access to transportation, nightlife, and tourist attractions. These would make a good consideration, especially for those buying their first holiday home.

More experienced purchasers often look to properties in more rural areas. They have spent time on the Costas and in the cities, and now are ready for some time to just quietly relax.

Properties in more rural locations can often be found at bargain prices; however, one must remember that sometimes access to facilities such as hospitals and medical centres, restaurants, and public transportation can be limited or even non-existent.

People should consider their need for these services both now and in the future before purchasing rural property in Spain. However, for those who want the ability to bring large pets or other items not generally allowed in other locations, a rural setting is the perfect idea.

Buyers of real estate in Spain should consider not only their own needs when using the property but any requirements they may have as far as letting the property, and then find a setting that meets all their needs.
