subject: Wind Turbine Kits - 3 Tips On How To Succeed With Wind [print this page]

By using wind turbine kits you can make a significant dent in your energy bills at home. By making all or some of your power yourself, you will be displacing the energy you would normally buy from your power company.

Here are 3 ways you can get a wind device up and running:

1.Buy a set of plans and build it yourself all from scratch. If you can buy a set of plans off the Internet and make it wind turbine from them, my hat is off to you. This can certainly be done but it's a huge amount of trouble. Any project like this you will have to go on a scavenger hunt to find the materials you need is going to be a lot of trouble. Is your objective to build the wind device or to make wind energy? That's what you have got to ask yourself.

2. Buy wind turbine kits and let the manufacturer build the sub-assemblies. Wind device kits are the best way to go, in my opinion. The reason is all that important subassemblies are already made for you. Once you get a kit and the box all you have to do is take the subassemblies out and attach them to each other and form your wind turbine. Then you have to make sure you mounted it in the right place. That is work that you could do upfront before the kit arrives. You need to take some time and measure the wind density at various points around your property. There will always be several places that work better than anywhere else.

3. Have a dealer do all the work. This is the path of least resistance. The reason is a dealer will do a turnkey operation for you. That means all you have to do is give them your credit card number and within a couple weeks you'll be making wind energy at your home. The downside is this is very expensive. It can cost thousands of dollars more to build a wind device this way. The reason is you are having to pay the manufacturers and middlemen a profit on top of the cost of the parts.

By using wind turbine kits you can really impact the price you pay for power. By buying less of it from your power company, you are also taking control of your energy destiny. This is certainly a good description of our energy future and options that we will all be forced to consider.
