subject: Saving Space In The Bedroom Without Sacrificing On Quality [print this page]

The main issue with choosing a bed is that they can often take up a considerable amount of floor space and you may have to sacrifice a lot of your floor space to fit one in. However, there are a number of options that you can take advantage of to ensure that you get the bed you want whilst still managing to store your items and maximise your storage options.

A divan bed looks like any other normal bed, though some may be slightly taller than others, but has the extra functionality of offering drawers under the bed in which you can store items. Many choose to store a second pair of bed sheets and pillowcases in them for convenience; however it is entirely up to you what is stored in there. Typically divan beds are double, offering 4 shelves (2 on each side), however you can get them in different sizes and they offer an elegant way to store things without having to shove them under the bed.

If you are concerned about storage space in your kids bedroom, you could look into purchasing a bunk bed or a cabin bed as these take advantage of vertical space in the room. These beds often feature a chest of drawers or a desk underneath, thereby saving on a considerable amount of space.

As well as purchasing a unique bed, there are a number of other space-saving options for the bedroom. One of the easiest things you can do is designate certain areas of the bedroom for certain functions hanging hooks are great for putting towels and coats on, and storage bins are great for seasonal wear.

If you are looking to accommodate more people, such as guests staying over, why not look into purchasing a sofa bed not only will this provide a comfy seating solution, but also a good sleeping arrangement.

If, however, you have the opposite problem and you want the rooms to look full without seeming cluttered, then why not just go for a king or queen-sized bed. These can offer the perfect luxury without looking completely ridiculous and help to create a cohesive bedroom feel, particularly when combined with a similar style of bedroom furniture.

Before purchasing a bed, it is vital that you measure out the room and get an idea of what you want before you impulsively purchase the first model you see whether its a queen size, a single divan or even a triple bunk bed, there are a variety of beds out there so you can find the perfect one to suit you.
