subject: Get Younger Looking Skin With Medical Microdermabrasion [print this page]

There are loads of different treatments on the market that claim to help to fight off the signs of aging, but a lot of them are actually bogus. There are, however, a number of treatments that can definitely help you, and they are the ones you should look to when wanting to rejuvenate your skin. If you arent too keen on the idea of undergoing a surgical procedure then these would be ideal, as you can get the youthful appearance you are looking for without going under the knife.

Among these procedures is medical microdermabrasion. This treatment is completely non surgical and doesnt involve the use of any lasers or chemicals, meaning that there is absolutely no down time needed for recovery. Medical microdermabrasion is available for all skin types and ages as well, and it can be performed on men and women.

The procedure is essentially an intensive exfoliation technique that can remove dead skin cells and therefore promote new growth that will make your skin smoother, firmer and more youthful looking. It is ideal for those after an anti-aging treatment and can also be used as an acne solution.

During medical microdermabrasion a hand held device is used on the affected areas. The device controls a flow of tiny crystals that are passed over the skin at high velocity and then vacuumed up again, taking with them any dead skin and making for an incredibly effective exfoliation process. The effects of medical microdermabrasion will be seen immediately after the procedure.

Following medical microdermabrasion skin is very receptive to specially made creams that can prolong the effects, and so it is often advised that you take up a skin care regime. The skin clinic that you attend should be able to suggest good skin care products to you and may even have its own range of beauty products that you can use.

You will need to undergo a course of treatments to get the optimum results, which usually equates to six treatments. These should be spaced two weeks apart and the total amount of time that it can take to see the full effects of medical microdermabrasion is around four to five weeks.

If you would like to undergo more medical microdermabrasion treatments after your first course you will be able to discuss it with your nurse practitioner at the skin clinic, who will assess your case and let you know if you are a suitable candidate for further treatments. Most people are eligible, but everyones skin is different and so will need to be individually assessed.
