An hour or two spent in writing from dictation, another hour or two in reading aloud, a little geography and a little history and a little physics made the day pass busily. Geography is important to us because it is so logical that it open our eyes to the world we live in. It enables us to see the world and let us figure out the weather of the earth. Many students are taking geography as a subject but you know why geography is important? What are the concrete examples of the use of geography in daily life? How can we apply geography in our life? And what are the benefits of learning geography?

It is an interesting subject and inform us about the wonderful changes and activities which happen in the world. Geography not only teach us about the country but also country which is beyond the seas. We get to learn about the mountains, oceans, islands, lakes, volcanoes, the winds and a number of other interesting things in the universe. There are millions of creatures in this world and many of them have destroyed. There are many creatures which have changed their original form knowing about this is an interesting work. It also enhances our general knowledge and enables us to crack many competitive exams which is based on geography.

We also get to learn about the various types of plants and birds that exist throughout the world. The plants and birds in the cold lands are not the same as those in warmer lands. In the same way, the land forms in the cold regions are different from those in other regions. In equatorial regions abundant rain has produced large rivers and lakes, while in areas where little rain falls there are large deserts without many rivers and lakes. The climate and vegetation is not same in different place and in same manner habits and activities of people who belong to different region are also not same. They also speak different language from other region. Through geography we understand the world cultural diversity environment and society globalization.

Many people think that geography means knowing the places where it is located. It is important to know about the places and its characterization. It is true that alphabet is needed to read and multiplication tables for arithmetic but geography cover the wide range of the world. Geography is the study of places on earth and their relationship with each other. It gives a conceptual link to children between home, school and beyond world. Geography teaches us to interact with the environment and it also relates to international understanding, multi cultural concerns and environmental education. Geography is the subject which opens the door to this dynamic world and prepares each one of us for the role of global citizen in the 21st century. Thus, Geography is a very important subject, and because of its width and variety it is one of the most interesting subjects to read.
