subject: Hyperhidrosis----Are Drugs the Way to Go? [print this page]

Drugs would not be my first choice as a solution for hyperhidrosis. If it were me I would look at other solutions for my hyperhidrosis besides drugs.

I will give some of my reasons in this article. Yet you will find drugs to be the number one recommended solution in some forums.

If you can find another solution besides drugs utilize this first. Also, do your research! Find out as much as you can about the various drugs being touted as solutions.

Before going down the drug path in curing hyperhidrosis you should check out their side effects. I have yet to find a drug recommended on the forums that do not have a long list of side effects.

As drug change your body's chemistry there is some danger of your body overheating from over exertion. As the drugs alter your body's chemistry, you actually lose the protection that sweat gives you for cooling your body. From everything I have found drugs and exercise really don't go together.

Most of these drugs were not created to stop sweating. Instead they were found to have the side effect of limiting sweating. Go to Wikipedia and look these drugs up. You will find that some do not even list hyperhidrosis as something they help with. In others you will find hyperhidrosis at the very end of ailments they could possibly be used to treat.

All of these drugs seem to have been created to treat something else. This should be a very last resort.

This is why Stop Sweating and Start Living, by being a natural solution is my preferred remedy! A natural approach to treating hyperhidrosis will keep you more in touch with your body.

So drugs, although they can be a solution, should be a last resort. I would check out other avenues of help first.
