Make sure your keyword is in the Domain name you purchase for your website
Include at least 2 of your keywords in both the Title and Description of your website
Be sure to include a couple of keywords in your H1 Title Tag on your website.
Get relevant backlinks to your website using the Keywords you are trying to rank for in the anchor text. For example if you are an Elvis Impersonator you would not want Male Vocalist in the clickable link text pointing to your website.
Include some of the important keywords in both Bold and Italics throughout your website.
Join social networking sites and include your website on them
Participate in relevant forums and include your website in signatures on your posts
Submit your website to free online Business Directories.
Include your website address on all your promotional material
Do not forget to add a signature with your website address on all your Emails
