subject: Maintain A Long Laptops Battery Life. Is Your Laptop Battery Dying On You So Quickly? [print this page]

Keep your laptops battery life for longer by adhering to these procedures. Laptop batteries are incredibly costly to change, and once they die, if you do not retain an extra battery, you could not go anywhere without your power adapter and evidently require someplace to plug it in.

When using your laptop on battery power, run the HP laptop battery down until the computer warns you it is going dead then subsequently plug in the laptop until the battery is completely charged. If you keep your notebook generally in the same place, keep it plugged up to AC power. There's no reason to run on the battery if it's not nescessary.

If the long battery laptop is completely charged and you disconnect it to transfer it to another space for few minutes, do not hook it back up to the AC power, let the battery run down. Batteries retain memory, if they regularly utilize only a part of their power, they do not remember they have more to offer.

Sounds humorous, but that's how they perform. They claim the new high end batteries do not retain memory, but truthfully I haven't had any skill with them so I couldn't verify that for sure. I can say that my iPhone after a year and a half, still has brilliant battery power even though I am at fault of charging it when it's not even almost dead.

Apple Macbook battery go 300 cycles before they go bad, a cycle is a full up charge to completely dead. I treat my cycles like gold, my Macbook pro is 3 months old and I have only used 7 cycles and follow the rule of completely charged to almost completely dead when I hear the beep. If you are dealing with low battery energy and do have a number of the bad behaviors that I stated above, there is a remedy. Completely charge your battery and run it down fully dead (until the notebook turns off), do this 3 times and it be supposed to grant your battery a lot more energy, but need not expect it to be like brand new. After the 3 times you need to go back to fully charged to almost completely dead, when you hear the beep you plug it up,this time do not allow it to completely die since you do not want to use up all 300 cycles for the life of your battery sooner.

This applies to almost every Toshiba laptop battery, laptops, cell phones, equipment, etc. Save battery energy by adjusting your power options to put the display and hard disk to sleep after five minutes of not being used. On no account use your notebook in an incredibly hot environment, if you do, purchase a fan tray for it to lay on.
