subject: Easy And Cheap Tips To Treat Your Eczmea [print this page]

Treating eczema is similar whether you are affected in the face or hands or feet. Here are a few tips on how to counter eczema on your hands or anywhere else:

Avoid Dairy foods. It is been tested that dairy foods may trigger flare ups, so try to reduce your usual consumption to a minimum or remove it completely for a month and see how it affects your condition.

Changing your diet is considered to be a good start. It is a fact that there are many foods that can be the cause of eczema while there are many foods that can help reducing the conditions as well. So, it is recommended to have only foods that relieve your eczema symptoms, especially foods that are alkali producing.

If you are an eczema sufferer the first thing I would recommend getting done is a patch test, this will help to determine what you are allergic to, whether it be bed mites, dust, animal fur, types of foods or whatever. This will help to take out all the guesswork so that you can avoid these types of things that will be causing your eczema to flare up.

Use gloves when doing the dishes, laundry or cleaning in your home. Most cleaning products are too rash on the skin, and you can easily have a flare up if you enter in contact with them. Also, you need heavy duty gloves when doing gardening or repairs around the house. When going out in windy or cold weather, wear leather gloves to protect your skin from drying and chapping.

Avoid swimming in chloride treated water, since it is very irritating on the skin, and if you have eczema it will surely cause a flare up.

Follow A Good Diet: By following a good diet, you are not only doing a favor to your overall health but also to eczema. There are some foods that you need to avoid to prevent eczema from getting worse.

Here are some foods to avoid: cow's milk, shellfish, peanuts, eggs, soy, corn etc. Avoid any other foods that trigger allergic reactions.

Avoid tight woolen fabrics: This will worsen the skin inflammation and cause itching. So make sure you wear light, comfortable, loose clothing that is easy on your skin. A mixture of ground basil, olive oil and garlic can be used to sooth the affected skin. Besides applying this pesto mixture to the skin you can also eat it to cure the outbreaks from the inside out. Drinking a mixture of turmeric and water can also cure the symptoms. You can take a few baths that can soothe your symptoms. A vinegar and hot water bath is great at relieving itching and dryness. A warm tube with walnut leaves is also very soothing.
