subject: Information Product Marketing [print this page] Virtually everyone who comes to the internet nowadays is looking for information...to solve a particular problem, learn how to build an internet business or find a fudge brownie or other recipe. The list goes on and on, creating a great need for massive amounts of information.
And while it's true that virtually all business owners need lots of quality content to build their internet businesses, not all of them are going to create it themselves. So let's look at ways to get the content you need, as well as take a look at information products, also known as digital products, as a way of monetization. These products can come in a number of formats including ebooks, reports, ecourses, tutorials, audios and videos.
One source that many online business owners are turning to for content to use on their websites or newsletters is article submission sites, or "article directories". People use these articles sometimes because of time restraints, and sometimes because of a lack of confidence in their writing skills.
Fresh, quality, interesting content is the lifeblood of any theme-based internet business. Not only will the articles and other info products used to build a website be a determining factor in whether visitors stick around once they arrive at a website (is it interesting? informative? entertaining? does it solve a problem?) but done right (meaning optimizing the content and your website for the search engines) it can also determine whether someone visits your site in the first place.
And, as we have discussed in other articles, without traffic, your online business will flounder and die. You need to give people a reason to visit your website, and offering them lots of useful information is one way to do just that. You also need to create ways of monetizing your site, and good quality information product marketing is one great way to do this.
"Where Are These Info Products Coming From?"
Nowadays many people are creating their own products to sell from their online businesses, but you can also find articles and other info products on virtually any topic you can imagine that are written by others. So, no matter what the theme of your website, you will most likely be able to find products to complement it.
A quick search on Google will lead you right to a storehouse of information, but if you are interested in offering some of these products in your internet business, you need only to pay a visit to Clickbank or one of the other affiliate networks to find products that go hand in hand with the theme of your website.
If, on the other hand, you or your customers prefer to offer the material for sale, or modify it to suit your own businesses (which you should do anyway) - then private label rights content is what you will need. You can get it fairly inexpensively, and the generic nature of most articles makes them perfect to use in almost endless ways - even including your own name as the author.
In cases where modifying the content is an issue (or if funds are really tight) - then reprint articles from some of the major article directories, like Articlecity.com or Ezinearticles.com are another option. These article banks offer tons of free, down-loadable articles on virtually every subject you can imagine.
Just be aware that these articles normally can't be modified or resold, and no one else can add their own links or other information to them. In fact, when they're published, the author's resource or "bio" box must be left intact, which can essentially pull traffic away from the site where it's published, back to the website whose owner wrote the article.
